Disability Law Queensland’s legal practitioner assist families to develop their succession plans, including preparing Wills and providing advice about Trusts. Understanding the impact your estate plan can have on someone with a disability.

The Estate Planning workshop provides an overview of the legal considerations for making an effective Disability Will, setting up a Special Disability Trust and considering future accommodation needs.

Questions to consider for Estate Planning – How much should I leave? Should all my children get an equal share (regardless of disabilities)? Can the inheritance be managed on their behalf?  If so, how and by whom? Will the inheritance affect eligibility for government benefits? What happens to the inheritance if they die?

Guardianship, Administration, & Enduring Power of Attorney Workshop to help you understanding the legal options when it comes to supporting and making decisions on behalf of an adult with disability or impaired decision-making, as well as giving you a clear idea of what plans you can set for a child who may need decision making assistance when they become an adult.
